The Moline entrance to Arsenal Island is closed due to construction.
Please use the entrances in Rock Island, IL, or Davenport, IA.
Due to this closure, the house's regular hours are changing.
Thursday and Friday - Open 11 am-3 pm
Saturday and Sunday - Open 12-4 pm
Only Arsenal traffic (two lanes in/two lanes out) will be allowed to enter and exit via the Davenport entrance during peak traffic hours (5:30-8:30 a.m. & 2:30-5:30 p.m.). The Rock Island entrance will remain two-way traffic throughout the closure. Visitors are asked to come on the Island only after 8:30 a.m. Visitors can exit the Island during peak traffic hours in the afternoon, but must follow the set traffic patterns. Please allow extra time. For questions, please call the house at 309-786-7336.
The Colonel
Davenport House is open to the public from May through October. Tours
are provided during these months by trained docents from noon until
4:00 P.M. Thursday through Sunday.
Tours during the remainder of the year are by appointment only. Please

School tours are also available year-round and require

Guides
Col. Davenport House Guides tell the story of George Davenport, his
family and house to visitors to the site. They escort visitors around
the interior and exterior of the house, giving information about the
Davenport family, and the significant role of the family on the
founding and early history of Davenport and Rock Island. They also
describe the house and its architecture, and tell of pioneer life in
the 1830s through the artifacts in the house.

Trading
Come hear about the fur trading and its importance in
the life of George Davenport.
Learn about the types of furs traded in the Quad City area. Listen to
how George Davenport bartered with the local Indians in building the
local economy.
